Hotshot firefighting crews were able to gain 100% containment of the Horseshoe Fire and fire officials reduced the estimated size of the forest fire from 300 acres to 74 acres.

A forest fire burning in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains has closed U.S. Highway 64 and forced the evacuation of Cimarron Canyon State Park.

On the last day of winter a serious storm is punching through New Mexico making driving dangerous and putting an end to spring-like temperatures.

It's an icy, hazardous morning on some northern New Mexico highways. The state transportation department reports difficult driving conditions on a snowpacked and icy U.S. 64 from mile marker 272.5 to mile marker 315, the Taos Canyon area.
