As a leader Mastery of Detail is an excellent attribute to have in developing a successful business . There are 5 fundamental principles that are essential to mastering the nuances of the detail. We must become skilled practitioners of the system that we use in our everyday business to get to the next level and beyond.
We've all heard the old adage: "You can't please everybody." What I wish someone had told me was, "Sam, there will be blood on the floor. It may be yours, or it may be theirs, but to get where you're going, you may have to pay for it in blood." Of course, even if I had heard it, I probably wasn't in a place to understand it until I had been through it.
Leaders should have multiple people developing them. Not only should we develop the leaders under us, but we should encourage them to seek outside mentors who can also develop their ingredients. People often say, "He is a born leader."
Feeling like there is much more to you than you are currently demonstrating? Take a minute to imagine the most unpleasant and difficult challenge in your life and ask yourself this: "Is there something I can start doing today to turn this around today?" If there is at least one thing, in spite of how minor it may seem, then you need to ask yourself:
Do you suspect that there is a lot more to you than you are presently demonstrating? Dr. Pritchett, the author of "You 2(squared)", talks about how the really successful leaders created their success by doing certain actions that less successful people don't do. He summarizes these into what he calls creating a 5-1 success ratio with 6 power moves that anyone can learn.
Most of us want to do what we want but we can't because of the rules that we need to follow that our community impose unless we have the influence and power to do so. If you are concerned to your community and you want to help by creating some changes for improvement, you cannot just do that unless you are in a position. Usually, the person that has the power to do some changes is mostly a great leader.
Can you honestly say your organization or sponsor has given you the leadership shown by these Captains and true leaders? Have you been put first? Have your managers or upline acted in your best interest? Are they taking care of you, putting you in the best possible situation to succeed?
Log into any business networking site, like LinkedIn or Ryze, and almost daily will you see someone asking a question attempting to determine the difference between Leadership and Management. Just because someone has been given a supervisory title does NOT mean they are in a leadership position. This article describes how Leadership is an Attitude - Management is a position.
